- Jericho (New Testament)matched decided — the Jericho of the Gospels. The place index records Jericho 2 at exactly Matt.20.29, Mark.10.46, Luke.10.30, Luke.18.35, Luke.19.1 — the Gospel references, and no others — while the label "Jericho" resolves to Jericho 1, whose 63 references run from Num to Heb and include none of these. The two sites are 2.34 km apart, so a Gospel scene placed on the older tell would contradict this project's own index.
